We're hiring dedicated Personal Care Assistants to help high school students thrive through individualized learning support.
Personal Care Assistant – (High School)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Position Summary
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) supports the delivery of special education services in alignment with district, state, and federal guidelines. This role provides direct assistance to students with diverse learning needs, collaborates with instructional staff, and contributes to the implementation of individualized supports that promote student growth and independence.
Key responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting behavior intervention plans, documenting student progress, participating in IEP meetings, and contributing to problem‑solving teams within the school community.
Minimum Qualifications
-Associate’s degree preferred, HS Diploma Required
-GEDs are not accepted.
-Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
-Knowledge of special education practices and a willingness to learn new strategies.
-Proficiency with multimedia tools and computer technology to support instruction.
-Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, administrators, and families.
-Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Position Responsibilities
-Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs to ensure appropriate educational support for students.
-Support the use of instructional resources and technology to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem‑solving.
-Provide individualized support based on student needs and manage time effectively to maximize learning opportunities.
-Assist in assessing student progress and follow district assessment and grading policies.
-Support student behavior management across various school settings to maintain a positive learning environment.
-Collaborate with colleagues, students, families, and community partners to promote student success.
-Participate in the school’s professional learning community to deepen understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
-Communicate clearly and professionally in all written and verbal interactions.
