PCB Layout Engineer (Xpedition)

We are recruiting a PCB Layout Engineer for a global technology leader developing rugged embedded computing systems for defense, aerospace, industrial, and scientific applications. This is a full-time, onsite position in Huntsville, Alabama, with minimal travel required.

This position does not offer employment visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

You will design complex, high-speed printed circuit boards used in demanding land, sea, air, and space environments.

What You’ll Do

• Create high-density, multilayer PCB layouts for advanced embedded computing platforms

• Translate electrical schematics into reliable, production-ready board designs

• Optimize component placement, routing, stack-ups, signal integrity, and power integrity

• Design with DDR4/DDR5, PCIe Gen4/Gen5, Ethernet, FPGA, BGA, QFN, and mixed-signal technologies

• Apply HDI techniques including microvias, blind and buried vias, via-in-pad, and sequential lamination

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, systems, and test engineers

• Prepare fabrication and assembly documentation while supporting design reviews, DFM, DFA, DFT, and production release

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

• Professional experience designing complex, high-density multilayer PCBs

• Strong command of Siemens EDA Xpedition Layout, DxDesigner, design libraries, and constraint-management tools

• Experience with controlled-impedance routing, differential pairs, high-speed memory, and power distribution

• Knowledge of rigid and rigid-flex construction, PCB fabrication, assembly processes, and IPC standards

• Background supporting aerospace, defense, networking, telecommunications, embedded computing, automotive, or other high-performance electronics

• Experience with RF, analog, mixed-signal, FPGA, PCB design migration, or library management is valuable
