The PCEI AmeriCorps Education, Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator serves to build community involvement by planning and facilitating events and activities related to environmental learning and stewardship with supervision and direction from the Project Manager and collaboration with all PCEI staff. The member will coordinate volunteer involvement on ongoing projects at the Palouse Nature Center and at local sites. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal, written & graphic communication abilities; Experience organizing/coordinating groups/projects; Experience leading/teaching people of various ages; Demonstrated time management and problem-solving abilities; Demonstrated computer skills; Knowledge of ecology, conservation, restoration, horticulture, land management, education, adult learning, curriculum and instruction, or related fields. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 20 years of age; Must be U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident; Valid driver's license & good driving record; Must possess high school diploma/equivalent; Must commit to the full term of service; Must successfully pass fingerprint criminal history background check. Member Duties : MEMBER DUTIES: Education and outreach event coordination, facilitation and implementation of education programs (Little Roots Playgroup, Seasonal Wanderings, Master Naturalist, field trips and service-learning, and tabling at community events); Volunteer outreach, recruitment and coordination; Volunteer leader and instructor for educational and outreach events; Education/outreach event tracking and supervision; Assist in development of education, outreach, and volunteer program plans and procedures.
