We are seeking an experienced PCIS Engineer (Process Control, Instrumentation & Electrical Systems) to support process plant operations, equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and engineering projects in an onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot power, controls, instrumentation, and electrical system issues; repair or replace components as needed.
Execute approved equipment/process changes, upgrades, and optimization activities.
Provide engineering support for equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and validation.
Develop engineering packages and designs for power, instrumentation, controls, and electrical installations.
Coordinate with customers, vendors, construction teams, and engineering resources to collect design inputs and complete deliverables.
Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including instrument datasheets, I/O lists, instrument lists, wiring diagrams, and related documentation.
Support design reviews and obtain required approvals.
Provide electrical startup and commissioning support for process and packaging equipment.
Coordinate electrical construction vendors and provide onsite execution support.
Support production improvements, breakdown elimination, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability initiatives.
Participate in vendor, project, installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
Support safety validation activities and ensure designs comply with applicable safety requirements.
Provide after-hours or call-in support when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
6+ years of experience in instrumentation, controls, electrical engineering, or a related industrial engineering discipline.
Experience developing instrumentation and controls engineering packages for industrial/process plants.
Strong knowledge of process instrumentation selection, installation, calibration, verification, and adjustment.
Experience with industrial instrumentation such as control valves, flowmeters, and pressure/temperature transmitters.
Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC and control systems, communications, and VFDs.
Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and industrial network systems.
Experience designing LV electrical distribution systems, MCCs, power distribution panels, and motor control systems in accordance with NEC requirements.
Knowledge of machine safety and Category 3 safety circuits.
Experience with control panel design and UL 508A requirements.
Strong understanding of MCCs, VFDs, electrical schematics, and electrical troubleshooting.
Experience supporting system commissioning, startup, and validation.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements.
Strong communication and coordination skills with customers, vendors, construction teams, and cross-functional engineering groups.
Preferred:
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or process plant environment.
Experience supporting equipment installation, startup, commissioning, qualification, and validation.
Familiarity with industrial safety validation and production improvement initiatives.
