Duties and Responsibilities:

The GA will be responsible for:

Assisting with the hiring, recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of a diverse team of over 50 student workers.

Handling the financial aid paperwork for the work-study staff, including verifying hours worked, submitting bi-weekly timesheets, and managing the budget.

Creating and maintaining contracts and schedules for the student work-study staff, ensuring alignment with their class schedules and availability.

Collaborating on the planning and implementation of the annual STA (Student Teaching Assistant) training program, as well as organizing additional training sessions for individual groups throughout the academic year.

Conducting performance and probationary reviews.

Manage the Graduate Assistant (GA) inbox for receiving student inquiries, updates, and valuable information.

Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information or directing queries to the appropriate personnel.

Assisting with the daily operations and providing troubleshooting assistance in the Walsh Library, Esports Lab.

Ensuring the proper functioning of lab equipment and maintaining adequate supplies (e.g., paper, toner, drum) within these locations.

Overseeing the security of the labs and providing student support in each location from opening until closing, including during extended hours of operation.

Reserving and confirming requests for private use of computer labs and mobile carts for unique events and ensuring proper staffing.

Produce weekly status reports.

Completing additional yearly projects and tasks assigned by the Assist Dir. Technology Operations Manager.

Staffing two Open House and/or Pirate Preview per semester is required (Open Houses are held on weekends).

Oversee and ensure students perform scheduled printer checks, collaborate with them to compile comprehensive printer usage and cost reports, and conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and shortages in printer inventory supply.

Providing administrative support as needed to the department offices.

  • Budgeting experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and Excel coding

All candidates must be accepted and enrolled into a minimum 2-year graduate program at Seton Hall University.
