What You Will Do:
- Start and manage IV therapy for diverse patient needs
- Safely administer medications while adhering to hospital protocols
- Monitor vital signs and closely observe patient responses
- Educate patients and families on treatments and self-care techniques
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely charting
- Float to lower acuity units as needed to support staffing demands
- Follow all hospital policies to ensure optimal patient safety and quality care
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Ohio RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on clinical nursing experience
- Certification in BCLS and IV therapy
- Proficiency in using EPIC EMR preferred
- Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to multitask under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Additional certifications or specialized training
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospital environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred
- At least 2 years of bedside nursing experience in a hospital setting
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) on a 3x12-hour schedule, including some weekends and weekdays as needed
- Valid parking permit (options available through CampusParc at osu.campusparc.com) for convenient access to the medical center
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility
