PD/PLM Assistant

Location: New York City, Midtown Manhattan - Fashion District (On-Site)

Department: Karl Lagerfeld Paris

Reports To: Director of Design

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented PD/PLM Assistant to join our Karl Lagerfeld Paris team. This role supports the Product Development and Design teams by managing product data, maintaining PLM accuracy, tracking development milestones, and coordinating seasonal samples throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while partnering with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the PLM system throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Enter and maintain accurate style, color, fabric, trim, costing, and product information in PLM.
  • Support the development and approval of new materials and trims from prototype through production.
  • Maintain seasonal trim charts, color palettes, and development documentation.
  • Prepare and update technical packages, line sheets, and development files.
  • Send fit comments, development updates, and sample approvals to overseas vendors while tracking all communications.
  • Request, track, and manage seasonal sample orders from factories and suppliers.
  • Maintain factory development charts and monitor development milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate incoming samples and maintain organization of the sample room, trim library, and development materials.
  • Support seasonal presentations, mini walls, costing files, and internal product development meetings.
  • Partner with Design, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, and overseas offices to ensure accurate and timely product execution.
  • Assist with special projects and additional product development initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Product Development, PLM, Technical Design, or a related apparel field.
  • Experience using PLM systems such as Yunique PLM, Centric PLM, Gerber WebPDM, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of apparel construction, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and the apparel product development process.
  • Experience working in a high SKU-volume environment preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data manipulation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The salary for this position is: $60,000 per year.
