PE/Gym Teacher

Instruction & Class Management

• Deliver lesson plans: Teach age-appropriate games, sports, and fitness exercises.
• Manage student behavior: Maintain clear discipline standards and gym expectations.
• Foster sportsmanship: Model and teach self-discipline, respect, and fair play.
• Adapt activities: Modify exercises to include students with different physical needs.

Safety & Facility Oversight

• Ensure student safety: Monitor indoor and outdoor play spaces closely to minimize risk.
• Manage sports equipment: Set up, inspect, clean, and organize all gym gear.
• Administer basic first aid: Respond immediately to minor student injuries during physical activities

Administration & School Community

• Assess student progress: Evaluate motor skill development and participation levels.
• Communicate with stakeholders: Provide updates to parents and school administration.
• Support school events: Help coordinate special activities like Field Day or fitness challenges.
• Opportunity for coaching is available (basketball, volleyball, golf)

Certifications & Screenings

• First Aid / CPR certification: Mandatory or required to be obtained immediately upon hire.
• Background check: Must pass an FBI background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening.

Critical Skills

• Classroom management: Ability to keep large groups of active children organized and focused.
• Communication skills: Strong, clear verbal instruction style suitable for children and adolescents.
• Physical stamina: Capability to demonstrate exercises, lift lightweight gear, and stay active for long periods
