Role Summary
The PE Teacher will provide physical education instruction to elementary students, focusing on physical fitness, health, movement, sports, coordination, teamwork, and positive social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Teach physical education, fitness, health, rhythms/dance, and individual/team sports.
Adapt instruction for individual students and small groups.
Demonstrate sports skills, movement strategies, and physical activities.
Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
Monitor student progress and physical skill development.
Communicate with parents, counselors, and other school staff.
Maintain PE equipment, inventory, and safety standards.
Participate in curriculum development, faculty committees, school activities, and events.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding elementary PE role. The teacher must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb/balance, and regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs, frequently up to 100 lbs, and occasionally more than 100 lbs.
