The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level dependent on experience. We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Intensivist to join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team at the University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital (UMGCH) committed to exceptional patient-centered care, innovative translational research, and the education of future pediatric leaders.

Position Highlights

  • Work alongside 10 board-certified pediatric intensivists, 20 dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), pediatric residents, and fellows within our fully accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship program.
  • Collaborate with a full spectrum of expert pediatric medical and surgical sub-specialties
  • Participate in the continued growth of a state-of-the-art Congenital Heart Program.
  • Access robust clinical and translational research infrastructure, including active global health initiatives and a world-renowned research center focused on artificial blood, blood physiology, and hemostasis
  • Engage in a division committed to quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, and academic scholarship.

Clinical and Facility Features

  • Premier 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, incorporating dedicated cardiac ICU beds to support complex congenital heart and post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
  • Strong partnership with our state-of-the-art, 52-bed Level IV NICU-consistently ranked among the top 50 neonatology programs by U.S. News & World Report.
  • Fully accredited pediatric intensive care fellowship program
  • Comprehensive pediatric heart services spanning prenatal diagnosis through adulthood within a single integrated children's hospital.
  • Full service general pediatric inpatient unit and dedicated pediatric emergency department.
  • Active, dedicated pediatric critical care transport system, treating over 1,000 critically ill children annually.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Additional training or experience in cardiac critical care is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical competence in the management of complex congenital heart disease and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgery patients.
  • Strong commitment to medical education, quality and safety, clinical excellence, and academic scholarship.
