Are you interested in a career in dental and don't know where to start? Well, we’re looking for a Pediatric Dental Hygiene Assistant who’s ready to show up, do meaningful work, and grow with a team that actually has your back. Dental Hygiene Assistants are essential to how we operate. By managing prep work, sterilization, and patient interaction, you free our hygienists to focus entirely on delivering direct clinical care — which means better outcomes for our patients and a smoother experience for everyone on the team. This isn’t a background role; it’s a cornerstone one. Why You’ll Want to Work Here - We are a modern, kid-focused pediatric dental practice built on good vibes, genuine teamwork, and making the dental chair feel a lot less intimidating for our youngest patients. We move fast, support each other, and take real pride in the care we deliver! Compensation - Starting pay of $18+/hr, commensurate with your experience and skills
- Pay is competitive and reviewed regularly — we recognize people who bring real value
Benefits Package - Medical insurance with employer contributions toward your annual premium
- Vision insurance at no cost to you
- Dental assistance
- 401(k) with profit sharing — because your future matters, not just your paycheck
Paid Time Off (Because Rest Is Non-Negotiable) - 6 paid holidays per year
- Up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year, in compliance with the New York State Paid Sick Leave Law
- Up to 80 hours of paid vacation in your first year
The Culture - Collaborative, supportive team environment — no toxic hierarchy, no gatekeeping
- Modern, well-equipped office designed for efficient, comfortable care
- A practice that values your input and genuinely invests in your professional growth
What You’ll Do No two days look exactly the same — and that’s part of what makes this role interesting. Here’s what you can expect day-to-day: Patient Preparation & Radiographs - Greet and escort patients to the operatory, ensure they’re comfortable, and set the tone for a positive visit
- Capture necessary radiographs — bitewing, periapical, and panoramic — as clinically indicated
- Review and update medical histories prior to procedures to support safe, informed care
Room & Chair Setup - Prepare treatment chairs and rooms with the instruments, materials, and trays specific to each hygiene procedure — cleanings, sealants, fluoride, and more
- Ensure every operatory is stocked, organized, and procedure-ready before the patient walks in
Procedure Support - Work chairside alongside our hygienists — passing instruments, maintaining a clean working field, and keeping procedures running efficiently
- Support scaling, prophylaxis, and other hygiene procedures as directed
Sterilization & Infection Control - Sterilize instruments and turn over patient rooms between appointments in compliance with infection control protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the office
Administrative Support - Update patient records and clinical chart notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with appointment scheduling and day-to-day administrative tasks as needed
