A commitment to Neighborhood Health's mission and patient population is important.DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:(Essential Functions:Duties and responsibilities noted with bullets are considered to be the essential functions of the job).Performs routine and comprehensive oral examinations, using X-ray as requiredMakes diagnoses and develops treatment plansPerform emergency evaluations and treatmentsProvide oral health educationPerforms prophylactic and restorative dental work as necessary, with the use of nitrous oxide as indicatedPrescribes medications as necessaryMakes referrals when necessaryCollaborates with interdisciplinary team including medical and behavioral health providersSupervises onsite dental team members including hygienists and dental assistantsDocuments in electronic health recordParticipates in quality improvement initiativesAdheres to Neighborhood Health policies and proceduresProvides feedback as necessary to help improve quality, safety, and operationsParticipate in clinic and organization wide meetingsDemonstrates highest levels of professionalism and ethicsPerforms other duties as assigned/requiredEngage with community partners to promote the mission of Neighborhood Health and collaborate as neededQUALIFICATION/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Graduation from an accredited dental program with a Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)Current license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and DEA certification Knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautionsSkilled in full range of comprehensive pediatric dentistryGraduation from an accredited Pediatric Dentist Residency preferredBoard Certified in Pediatric Dentistry preferredAbility to speak Spanish preferred
