Performs cardiac ultrasound to include, but not limited to, transthoracic (TTE), M-Mode, 2-dimensional, Doppler and color flow studies. Echocardiography studies will be performed on infants and fetal patients. Operates sonar equipment, maintains, compiles, calculates and prepares findings for physician interpretation and archiving.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Prepares patients for exams, monitors progress and records results.
• Performs timely procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.
• Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed.
• Adhere to and practices appropriate infection control policies and procedures.
• Performs QA on all sonar equipment.
• Maintains and clean, organized work area.
• Perform other duties as required
• Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures
• Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement,
• Adheres to established rules, ethical standards, regulations and laws of the speech-hearing profession.
EDUCATION:
• Certification from an approved echocardiography program with emphasis on pediatrics required
EXPERIENCE:
• One –three years’ experience required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Pediatric and Fetal Echo (ARDMS) (RDCS-PE, FE); or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDS) or
Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) ; or
• Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• BCLS and PALS required
