Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Pediatric Echo Technician for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? *This PRN Pediatric role supports a Pediatric Cardiology practice (not OB/GYN)*

What you will do in this role:  

  • Performs cardiac ultrasound to include, but not limited to, transthoracic (TTE), M-Mode, 2-dimensional,Dopplerand color flow studies. Echocardiography studies will be performed on infants and fetalpatients.  

  • Operates sonar equipment,maintains, compiles, calculates and prepares findings for physician interpretation and archiving. 

  • Prepares patients for exams,monitorsprogress and records results. 

  • Performstimelyprocedures forsubsequentevaluation and treatment by attending physician. 

  • Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed. 

  • Adhere to andpracticesappropriate infectioncontrol policies and procedures. 

  • Performs QA on all sonar equipment. 

  • Maintains andclean, organized work area. 

  • Perform other duties asrequired 

  • Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures 

  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement, 

  • Adheres toestablishedrules, ethical standards,regulationsand laws of the speech-hearing profession. 

What Qualifications you will need:  

EDUCATION: 

  • Certification from an approved echocardiography program with emphasis on pediatricsrequired 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • One –three years’ experiencerequired 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: 
 

American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Pediatric and Fetal Echo (ARDMS) (RDCS-PE, FE); Or • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) ; or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) 
BCLS and PALSrequired 

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSAND ABILITIES: 

  • Mustdemonstratea high degree of interpersonal skill with co-workers,physiciansand patients 

  • Ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of work performed. 

  • Ability to follow established procedures in performing job functions.
