Responsibilities:

Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer (Pediatric Echo Technologist)

Join a dedicated pediatric cardiology team making a difference in the lives of children and families every day. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to perform high-quality echocardiographic studies on patients ranging from newborns to young adults. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse spectrum of congenital and acquired heart disease while collaborating closely with pediatric cardiologists and multidisciplinary specialists.

What You'll Do

  • Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms on pediatric patients of all ages, from infants through adolescents.
  • Acquire high-quality diagnostic images on patients with both simple and complex congenital heart disease.
  • Prepare detailed preliminary reports, including accurate measurements and assessment of findings.
  • Utilize advanced imaging techniques to evaluate cardiac anatomy, physiology, and postoperative repairs.
  • Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures and maintain associated equipment.
  • Accurately document patient information and complete required data entry and billing documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care and diagnostic accuracy.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, congenital heart defects, and surgical/interventional repairs.
  • Experience imaging a broad range of congenital heart disease, including complex cases.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate various surgical repairs and postoperative cardiac anatomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
  • A patient-centered approach with the ability to help children feel comfortable during examinations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

Qualifications

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a pediatric cardiology or congenital heart disease setting is highly desirable.

Education Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.

Experience

  • Relevant Experience with pediatrics

Certification and Licensure

  • CCI or ARMDS or ARDMS PE
