Pediatric Endocrinologist

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at The Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center is seeking a 4^th full-time physician to join a well-established and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a pediatric endocrinologist interested in inpatient care, teaching, and professional growth within a supportive academic environment.

Clinical and academic responsibilities:

• Inpatient pediatric care and newborn care
• Pediatric sedation and complex care management
• Active teaching of medical students and residents in Pediatrics, Medicine-Pediatrics and Family Medicine

Position details and requirements:

• MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Endocrinology
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents and other healthcare providers.
• Opportunities for professional development and involvement in medical education

About the Department and facilities:

• Robust academic Department of Pediatrics with multiple residency programs
• Diverse and highly respected division with a strong focus on patient care, education, and quality improvement
• Team: 3 physicians, 2 NPs, RN diabetes educators, a registered dietician, and an endocrine RN
• Houses 60 level 4 NICU beds, 19 PICU beds
• Home to the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Sole Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) serving 25 counties
• Only facility in the region offering 24/7 pediatric emergency services
