Austin Radiological Association (ARA) is seeking Pediatric Radiologists to join our growing pediatric section in Austin, Texas. We are welcoming candidates with interests in Pediatric General/Body Radiology, Pediatric Interventional Radiology, or a combination of both.

Based at Dell Children's Medical Center, our pediatric team cares for a broad and complex patient population, including patients from throughout Central Texas and beyond. The hospital is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, creating a sophisticated and diverse clinical environment for pediatric radiologists.

The Opportunity

Our pediatric section offers flexibility for physicians with different clinical interests.

The ideal candidate will enjoy a broad spectrum of pediatric diagnostic imaging while maintaining a predominantly pediatric practice.

• Clinical responsibilities may include:
• Pediatric body imaging
• Pediatric CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographs
• Pediatric fluoroscopy
• Emergency and acute-care pediatric imaging
• Inpatient and outpatient pediatric imaging
• General body imaging with minimal adult responsibilities
• Collaboration with pediatric subspecialists and referring providers
• Participation in multidisciplinary conferences
• Teaching residents, fellows, and medical students

The pediatric section provides subspecialist support for Pediatric Neuro, MSK MRI, and Interventional Radiology, allowing you to focus on your area of expertise while working within a comprehensive pediatric radiology team.

Pediatric Interventional Radiology

For physicians with a passion for procedures, this opportunity provides access to a growing pediatric procedural environment supported by an experienced pediatric radiology team and dedicated procedural resources.

Pediatric IR candidates will have opportunities to participate in advanced pediatric image-guided procedures while collaborating closely with pediatric specialists and multidisciplinary care teams.

The practice also includes a pediatric-specific procedural APP, providing additional support for the pediatric interventional service.

You won't be joining a general radiology group that occasionally reads pediatric cases.

You'll join a dedicated pediatric radiology section with a clinical focus of more than 90% pediatric imaging.

The section is based at Dell Children's Medical Center and provides specialized diagnostic and interventional services to children across Central Texas and beyond.

Dell Children's is a 248-bed freestanding pediatric facility serving a 46-county area and is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU.

The practice also serves additional pediatric facilities and outpatient imaging centers throughout Austin.

This creates an environment with the combination of high pediatric volume, clinical complexity, subspecialty collaboration, and academic opportunity that many pediatric radiologists are looking for.

Schedule & Lifestyle

The pediatric section maintains a shared coverage model designed to provide predictable scheduling while ensuring comprehensive pediatric coverage.

Typical Clinical Schedule

• Weekday daytime shifts: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Protected one-hour lunch break
• Weekend/holiday coverage: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
• Evening coverage: 4:00 PM-10:30 PM
• Call and holiday responsibilities shared evenly across the pediatric section
• At-home pager coverage for pediatric fluoroscopy procedures
• Generous hourly callback stipend
• Overnight pediatric diagnostic coverage provided by a contracted teleradiology service

The practice also offers flexible internal moonlighting, including shift-based and pay-per-study opportunities, allowing physicians to increase their earning potential when desired.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology
• Completion of a Pediatric Radiology fellowship or CAQ in Pediatric Radiology
• Pediatric Interventional Radiology experience/training welcomed
• Comfortable interpreting a broad range of pediatric imaging
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
• Commitment to clinical excellence and exceptional patient care
• Eligible for Texas medical licensure
• Current fellows and residents are encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $500,000-$1,000,000
• Competitive compensation with equal base pay for partners at the same FTE
