The cellular therapies team currently consists of a full-time physician, nurse practitioner, three nurse coordinators, social worker, and dietician. The program is a collaborative program with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville that provides the cell therapy lab and opportunity for collaboration with physicians at the Mayo Clinic. The recently remodeled outpatient clinic contains isolation exam rooms for cellular therapies patients and an infusion space. The hepa-filtered inpatient unit at Wolfson Children's Hospital is staffed by BMT training nurses with all ancillary and consultative services need. Wolfson Children's Hospital is the largest pediatric specialty hospital in Florida with broad support from the state and community philanthropic organizations. We are also a qualified treatment center for gene therapy for sickle cell disease.
This physician will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes pediatric oncologists, transplant specialists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and research professionals. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research, quality improvement initiatives, and the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
