Schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The APP works 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), including weekends and holidays. No night coverage or call required.
Pay Range
$51.05 - $76.60

Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospitalist looking for an experienced full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their dynamic Pediatric Hospitalist team, known as the CHIPS team. Schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The APP works 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), including weekends and holidays. No night coverage or call required.
The APP sees newborns throughout their admission to the newborn nursery. The APP also helps see pediatric admissions in the afternoon or provide coverage on the pediatric floor as needed. Due to the variability in the shift, it is imperative the APP is able to adapt and flex to the needs of the teams and demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina and has prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board.
BLS for Healthcare Provider and PALS from AHA is required with an expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
NRP from AAP required with an expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
Nurse Practitioner:
Masters degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse is required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is required.
The nurse practitioner must have ACNP, CPNP-AC, or PNP-AC board certification required based on the population served (non-acute care certified NPs are not eligible for this position).
Physician Assistant:
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Any machines, tools, and equipment used in the specialty of practice. List of machines, tools and equipment to be used will be included in the practitioners Collaborative Practice Agreement.
