Seattle Children’s Hospital is hiring a Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist for its Olympia Regional Team. In this role, you are a full Seattle Children’s staff member stationed at a regional partner site to provide top-tier pediatric care to the South Sound community.

The Role at a Glance

This position is designed for physicians who want the prestige and backing of a top-ranked pediatric system while practicing in a high-acuity community setting. You are the "Seattle Children's expert on the ground," managing a diverse clinical load that spans from the delivery room to the inpatient ward.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Inpatient Care: Manage pediatric floor patients using Seattle Children’s clinical pathways.
  • Level II Nursery: Provide specialized care for newborns >32 weeks.
  • High-Acuity Management: Lead interventions including high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), continuous albuterol, and insulin drips.
  • Emergency & Delivery: Provide pediatric consultations in the ED and attend high-risk deliveries.

Required Education and Experience

  • MD Degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s, and assigned medical center(s).

Required Credentials

  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.
  • Federal DEA Registration.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges).
  • Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

Preferred

  • Experience in pediatric emergency medicine.

Compensation Range

$145.60 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
