  • Shift:1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (some scheduling flexibility available)

Position Overview

Join a highly specialized Pediatric Imaging team providing advanced MRI services for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents (birth through 18 years of age). This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center, delivering exceptional patient-centered care while utilizing advanced Siemens MRI technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout each procedure.
  • Prepare and educate patients and families by explaining MRI procedures in an age-appropriate manner to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
  • Operate Siemens MRI scanners while selecting and adjusting imaging protocols based on patient age, anatomy, and physician orders.
  • Screen patients thoroughly for MRI contraindications, implants, foreign bodies, and other safety concerns before every examination.
  • Monitor patients during imaging and independently recognize when excessive motion or patient condition requires postponement for sedation or anesthesia.
  • Coordinate closely with radiologists, pediatric physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
  • Maintain detailed documentation within the electronic medical record while protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
  • Follow all MRI safety protocols, infection prevention guidelines, and departmental quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI environment while ensuring all equipment meets operational and safety standards.
  • Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while supporting pediatric patients with varying developmental and emotional needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
  • At least 6 months of recent Pediatric MRI experience
  • Experience operating Siemens MRI scanners (Required)
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
  • Level I Trauma Center experience
  • New York State Radiologic Technologist License(Candidates awaiting licensure may be considered but must obtain licensure before the assignment start date.)
