Job Summary: We are looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team.  The NP will help provide comprehensive care services to infants, children and adolescents in an outpatient setting.  This role focuses on preventive care, health maintenance and management of common acute and chronic pediatric conditions.  The NP works collaboratively with the physicians to deliver high quality, family centered care. 


Key Responsibilities


~ Provide routine well child visits, physical exams and developmental screenings


~ Diagnose and manage common pediatric acute illnesses and minor injuries


~ Manage stable chronic conditions such as asthma and ADHD


~ Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulations


~ Administer and manage immunizations per recommended schedules


~ Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies


~Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EMR)


~ Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements


 


Qualifications


~ Current Nurse Practitioner certification


~ Active RN and NP license in the practicing state


~Prescriptive authority and DEA registration


~ Strong clinical judgement and evidence-based practice skills


~ Excellent communication, organization and time management abilities


Preferred Experience


~ Prior experience in pediatric primary care


~Experience with well childcare, immunizations and preventive health guidelines


~ Familiarity with EMR systems – Medent preferred


 


Work Schedule and Environment


~ Outpatient pediatric primary care office


~  Monday’s 8:30-12, Friday’s 8:30-5 and 1-2 Saturday’s 8:30-12


~ Flexibility to increase hours to provide coverage for physicians
