The Clinical Team Lead is key in promoting high quality, patient-centered care.  She/he is responsible for assisting physicians with procedures and treatments, general clinical duties, assisting in patient management, proper documentation of medical transactions, maintaining medical equipment/ instruments, and assisting in the daily operations of the office.  The Clinical Team Lead is expected to maintain open, effective communication with the physicians, practice manager, practice executive, co-workers, patients, and outside vendors/agencies.  She/he is expected to know and adhere to the philosophy and mission of PriMED.
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), RN (Registered Nurse) Essential Duties and Tasks                                                                                                                           
  • Responsible for the training of all new clinical employees –initiate training, delegate the training to other team members on days he/she is not working the floor.
  • Point person for clinical expertise of all PriMED clinical processes.
  • Creates and manages the clinical employee schedule and call offs.
  • Manages scheduling templates - blocking for holidays, vacations sick days and meetings with manager’s oversight and accountability. Manager is responsible for creating new templates.
  • Orders all supplies
    • Checking inventory & ordering all medical supplies as needed (twice a month) including all CompuNet supplies
    • Repairing and/or ordering new equipment as needed.
    • Equipment maintenance and yearly inspections of office machines to include but not limited to: Centrifuge, scales, Bp machines, fire extinguishers.
  • Delegates and monitors the monthly checking of Crash Cart to a clinical staff member
  • Delegates and monitors the checking of controls on all lab items to a clinical staff member.
  • Delegates and monitors the cleaning and temperature controls of the Sterilizers to a clinical staff member
  • Delegates and monitors the sample closet to be stocked and cleaned to a clinical staff member.
  • Delegates Monthly Safety Checklist to a clinical staff member
    • OSHA tests
    • Safety items inspected
    • TB test schedules
    • CPR cert/re-certs
    • AED machine
  • Codes monthly invoices – matching them up to packing slips and order logs with manager’s oversight and accountability.
  • Delegates the running of patient OARRS to a clinical staff member.
  • Assists the manager with maintaining the Safety and HIPPA binders.
  • Meeting assistance – team lead to attend and take minutes, contribute to agenda topics and present when applicable to both staff and provider meetings. Manager to review minutes for accuracy/final approval.
  • Covers office when manager is out of the office.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the manager of the site.
  • MD charges
  • Work the floor and complete all MA/Nurse duties as necessary:
    • Assist the physician with procedures and treatments as required, including, but not limited to, pap/pelvic exams, joint aspirations, wound care, and minor office procedures.  Cardiology:  Treadmills-prep, instruct and observe patient; monitor machine, and record data during test; pacemaker clinic, and tilt table testing.
    • General clinical duties according to policy, including, but not limited to; vitals signs, injections, venipuncture, sterile/clean dressing changes, suture removal, ear/eye irrigations, urine dips, EKG, BIOZ, nebulizer treatments as required.
    • Assist in patient management, including but not limited to; escort patients to exam rooms, schedule tests/procedures and prepare referrals/obtain authorization as required by insurance, review test results and communicate results to physicians and patients, and maintain patient schedule.
    • Manage clinical phone calls in a timely manner, including, but not limited to; prescription refill requests, referral requests, relaying physician messages, and patient call requests.
    • Proper documentation according to guidelines in policy.
    • Clean and maintain clinical instruments/equipment, keeping appropriate documentation required by OSHA
    • Maintain appropriate clinical logs tracking; lab specimens/results, immunizations, controlled substances, and any other log as required.
    • Monitor medical and drug inventory maintaining appropriate levels of supplies.
    • Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all patient data as well as other pertinent information acquired during the performance of her/his duties.
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), RN (Registered Nurse) Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • A Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as required in the state of Ohio.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
