Key Responsibilities
Evaluate students and develop occupational therapy treatment plans based on functional abilities and goals.
Provide therapy services in accordance with IFSP/IEP plans and agency guidelines.
Support development of daily living skills including feeding, dressing, hygiene, fine motor, and sensory skills.
Monitor student progress and document therapy outcomes and recommendations.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, evaluations, and case reviews.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's care.
Refer students to additional clinical services when appropriate.
Design or adapt assistive devices such as splints or braces when needed.
Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, and therapy reports.
Assist with program development, staff training, and supervision of OT students or assistants when required.
Qualifications
NYS Occupational Therapy License
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to evaluate student progress and adjust therapy techniques accordingly
Good organizational and documentation skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Must be fingerprinted or willing to be fingerprinted by the NY Board of Education and Department of Investigation
