About Mighty Minds and Muscles


Mighty Minds and Muscles (MMM) is a pediatric multidisciplinary therapy and learning center in Tribeca, Manhattan, serving children from infancy through adolescence since 2011. Our team of occupational therapists, educators, and collaborative therapy partners for speech therapy and physical therapy. We deliver services in our outpatient clinic, in schools across lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and Jersey City, and in community and home settings.


Our clinical model is grounded in sensory integration theory, neurodevelopmental principles, and a bottom-up approach to child development. We are an approved NYC DOE Related Services agency and serve a diverse caseload including private pay, Impartial Hearing Order (IHO), SEIT, SETSS, and school-contracted cases. We are a small, mission-driven practice with a strong reputation among lower Manhattan families, pediatricians, and private schools — and we are growing.


Role Overview


The Clinical Director is the senior clinical leader of Mighty Minds and Muscles, responsible for the quality, consistency, and development of all therapy & academic services while collaborating with on-site PT and SLP partners and schools and daycares. This role carries both direct clinical responsibilities and leadership duties: you will carry a caseload, perform high-level evaluations, supervise and mentor OT staff, lead clinical programming, and serve as the primary clinical partner to the Owner/Founder and Operations Manager.


This is the right role for a highly skilled, experienced pediatric OT who is ready to step into a leadership position without leaving clinical work behind — someone who is as energized by building systems and mentoring emerging clinicians as they are by treating children.


The Role


We're looking for an experienced clinician ready to run the clinical operations of the practice — not just carry a caseload. This is the person the Owner hands day-to-day clinical leadership to: staffing, quality, scheduling capacity, program growth, and team performance across OT, PT, Speech, and academic support. You'll retain a modest caseload to stay clinically sharp and credible with the team, but your primary job is building and running the practice, not treating full-time.


You'll own:

• Day-to-day clinical operations across all service lines (OT, PT, Speech, academic support)
• Staffing decisions: hiring, onboarding, performance management, and mentorship for the full clinical team
• Scheduling capacity, caseload distribution, and productivity standards
• Clinical quality and documentation compliance across disciplines
• Securing revenue through maintaining community relationships 
• Tracking revenue projections and creatively maintaining sustainable programming 
• Acting as the Owner's operational partner — the person driving execution, not just advising on it
• 
  
• Program growth: the Toddler Preschool Alternative Program, the Collaborative OT/PT/Speech packages, and future service line expansion

You'll also:

• Carry a light-to-moderate caseload of evaluations and select treatment to stay clinically active
• Lead team meetings, case consultations, and clinical protocol standards

Clinical/Admin Split: Split to be determined based on your skills and what you bring to the table.
Initially direct clinical service 50-65% |  35-50% clinical leadership, supervision, and program development (Ratio adjusts as team and caseload grow; leadership hours are compensated at a dedicated admin rate for 1099 candidates)

What You Bring

• Master's or Doctoral degree in OT (preferred) or a related pediatric therapy discipline (PT, Speech); current NYS licensure; relevant national certification
• 5+ years of pediatric clinical experience, with prior experience leading a team or running clinical operations — not just supervising a few cases
• Comfort owning staffing, scheduling, and performance decisions, not just clinical protocol
• Experience conducting comprehensive pediatric evaluations

Nice to have: SIPT or ASI certification, NYC DOE experience (Related Services, SEIT, IHO), prior practice management or director-level role, MNRI/DIR-Floortime training, business or operations background

Compensation - Commensurate with experience and intention.  
(Initially may be a 1099 converting to W2 with commitment and proven performance)

• 1099 Contract: $95–$120/hour (blended clinical + admin rate structure; see below)  
• Clinical/admin leadership rate: $50–$60/hour (for supervision, case review, program development, team meetings, and non-billable leadership time)
  • Sample blended effective rate for a 65/35 clinical-to-admin split at full hours: approximately $80–$100/hour all-in
  • 1099 candidates are responsible for self-employment taxes; no benefits provided

• W-2 Full-Time: $90,000–$110,000/year + benefits

• Compensation can increase/be higher or enhanced by bonuses with proven performance & commitment quickly.

Note: Any of these disciplines (OT, PT, Speech) can buy in, provided a licensed OT retains ownership per NYS requirements — which the practice's Owner will continue to hold.
