    Company Description More Than A Gym, Pediatric Therapy and Play Gym is a specialized sensory, fine motor, and gross motor facility serving children with special needs and developmental delays. The organization provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services in both one-to-one and small group settings, creating individualized, supportive treatment plans. Services are offered through Nassau and Suffolk County EI, CPSE, CSE, private insurance, and private pay, allowing families multiple access options. The environment is designed to be engaging and play-based while maintaining a strong therapeutic focus. Team members collaborate to help children build functional skills, confidence, and independence.

    Role Description The Pediatric Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering occupational therapy services to children in an on-site setting at our Plainview, NY sensory gym facility. This is a full-time role that includes evaluating children’s sensory, fine motor, and gross motor needs; developing and implementing individualized treatment plans; and documenting progress in accordance with program and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities involve providing therapy in individual and group formats, collaborating with families and caregivers on home programs, and partnering with other therapists and staff to support integrated care. The therapist will also participate in team meetings, maintain timely communication with parents and other referral sources, and contribute to a safe, engaging, and inclusive therapy environment.

    Qualifications

    • \n
    • Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for pediatric clients.
    • \n
    • Strong background in Pediatrics and Early Intervention, with experience working with children with developmental delays and diverse needs.
    • \n
    • Proficiency in Sensory Integration approaches and the ability to incorporate sensory-based strategies into treatment sessions.
    • \n
    • Comfort and skill in Working With Children in both individual and group settings, using play-based, child-centered methods.
    • \n
    • Current Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility) in the state of New York.
    • \n
    • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program.
    • \n
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
    • \n
    • Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
    • \n
    • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory, and strengths-based practice in a pediatric setting.
