Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT)

An educational services organization is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) in New York, NY to provide school-based therapy for students with complex medical and developmental needs. This role focuses on assessment, intervention, documentation, and collaboration with school staff and families to support student mobility, positioning, and functional progress.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift

• Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm

• Setting: On-site, school-based

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services to students across school-based settings in alignment with IEP goals and documented therapy plans.
• Develop, implement, and adjust therapeutic interventions based on student needs and ongoing progress monitoring.
• Evaluate, document, and communicate student progress, service delivery, and treatment updates in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with parents, school staff, and medical professionals regarding mobility, positioning, equipment use, and participation in school activities.
• Support assessments, training, and coordination related to adaptive equipment, orthotics, durable medical equipment, and mobility-related needs.
• Complete required documentation, participate in meetings and supervision, and provide coverage or support as needed across assigned services.

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Physical Therapist license.
• Experience with medically complex pediatric populations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years of pediatric physical therapy experience.
• Experience with significant disabilities, brain-based disorders, neurological involvement, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience or training in aquatic therapy.

• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an APTA-recognized program.

• Experience with pediatric clinical specialist certification or NDT training.
