Norton Healthcare Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Residency Program

 

The first pediatric respiratory therapy residency program in the region.

 

Program overview:

 

10 month program designed to help respiratory therapists develop skills and knowledge to care for pediatric and neonatal patients. The program is designed to support you to:

  • Experience educational and hands-on practice with respiratory therapists, individualized preceptor orientation, hospital and unit-based orientations, guided classroom learning and peer-supported session.
  • Improve patient care outcomes and knowledge.
  • Transition from novice to advanced beginner respiratory therapist.
  • Enhance career fulfilment and growth by increasing competence, critical thinking, communication and organizational skills and fostering interprofessional relationships

Qualifications:

Program eligibility:

  • New graduates or experienced adult respiratory therapists exploring a career in pediatrics
  • Licensed to practice with the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care upon entering the program
