DESCRIPTION

About the Organization

Our client is a decentralized clinical trial (DCT) organization redefining how clinical research reaches patients. Rather than requiring patients to travel to a traditional research site, their model brings the clinical trial experience directly to patients in the comfort of their own homes. It is an approach that demands nurses who are both technically precise and genuinely warm with patients of all ages — and one that puts the nurse at the center of the research experience.

The Role

This is a meaningful, flexible part-time contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse with pediatric experience who thrives in independent, one-on-one care settings. As a home visit nurse supporting a decentralized clinical trial, you will be the clinical face of the study for patients in the Burton, Ohio area. You will conduct home visits approximately once every three weeks — and the schedule comes with built-in flexibility. Each visit has a 3-day window on either side of the target date, meaning if a visit is planned for a Wednesday, it can be conducted anywhere from the Sunday before to the Saturday after. Visits last approximately one hour at the patient's residence. The primary patient population is a 6-year-old child; adolescent and adult patients may also be enrolled as the study expands. Travel is local and confined to the close proximity of Burton, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled home visits with a pediatric patient (6 years of age); adolescent and adult patients may also be enrolled
  • Manage and don appropriate PPE per protocol
  • Collect and document vital signs, including pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature, and weight
  • Perform urine collection for pregnancy testing (WOCBP patients, where applicable)
  • Reconstitute and administer investigational product via subcutaneous injection
  • Complete IP reconciliation per study protocol
  • Accurately complete all visit source documentation

What You Bring

  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio (required)
  • Pediatric nursing experience, with comfort caring for school-age children
  • Experience with subcutaneous injections and IP or medication reconstitution
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols and source documentation — prior decentralized or home-based clinical trial (DCT) experience is a strong plus
  • Reliable transportation and comfort with local home visit travel
  • A calm, patient-centered presence with families

Why This Role

This is a low-volume, high-impact engagement supporting innovative decentralized clinical research — one visit approximately every three weeks, roughly one hour each, with a flexible scheduling window built into every visit. There are no overnight or long-distance travel requirements. It is an ideal fit for a nurse who wants to stay clinically active, contribute to meaningful research, and maintain flexibility in their schedule. Alura Workforce Solutions provides dedicated support throughout your contract.
