RN/LVN – Pediatric Medical Day Center (PPECC)

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Hours: Monday-Friday | 7:30AM-5:30PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Pediatric Prescribed Extended Care Center (PPECC). Our team provides skilled nursing care to medically fragile children in a supportive, family-centered environment. Nurse will work closely with CNAs, therapists, physicians, and families to ensure high-quality pediatric care throughout the day.

This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about pediatrics and enjoy building long-term relationships with patients and families in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to medically fragile pediatric patients
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising RN and physicians
  • Administer medications, treatments, and feedings as ordered
  • Assist with tracheostomy, ventilator, G-tube, and other skilled nursing interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
  • Follow individualized care plans and physician orders
  • Support daily activities while ensuring patient safety and comfort
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and PPECC regulatory standards
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training/education

Qualifications

  • Current Texas LVN/RN license in good standing
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience with medically fragile children preferred
  • Experience with trach/vent, G-tube, or pediatric home health is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
