- Direct the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatments to patients.
- Examine patients to provide information on medical condition and surgical risk.
- Follow established surgical techniques during the operation consistent with the accepted standards of care.
- Contribute to the planning, coordination and compliance with hospital policies and departmental policies.
- Participate in surgical residency education.
- Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
- Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
- Provide on call and/or clinic coverage as requested by Chairperson of the Department of Surgery.
- Participate in scholarly activity and research.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
