Position Overview

Pediatricians at our Freedom Hill Community Health Center in Tarboro, NC, are responsible for promoting health, treating disease, and establishing and maintaining an individual treatment plan for infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Position Details

THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORKWEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, FEDERAL LOAN REPAYMENT SIGN-ON BONUS, ON-CALL PAY, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.

Essential Tasks

• Participates in the development of the organizations healthcare plan based on need, resources, and health behaviors of the targeted population. • Reports to the CMO any problems in the day-to-day clinical operations or the practice with the ability to adversely affect the quality of patient care. • Works with the healthcare team to promote good public relations and cultivates cooperative relationships within the healthcare community. • Conducts thorough examinations on newborns and young children to check and record their health and normal physical development. • Examines sick infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents to determine their condition and asks intuitive questions to gather information about symptoms. • Determines an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history. • Formulates an evidence-based plan of treatment. • When prescribing medications, provides detailed instructions for administration.

Experience and Education

Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of a residency program in pediatrics. Demonstrated competence to perform the duties of pediatrician. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Two years minimum of clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8 am - 5 pm (8-hour shift, day shift) Wednesday: 11 am - 8 pm

Physical Requirements

Individuals may need to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, including of patients, reaching forwards and overhead. Possibly requires walking primarily on a level service for periods throughout the day. Both proper lifting techniques and frequent computer work are required. Must be able to travel freely in the local area between clinics, hospitals, health departments, etc.

• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina • Board certification or eligibility in chosen specialty if less than two years out of residency • BLS Certification • DEA Certification

Base Pay

The starting pay for this position is $190,000.00. Please keep in mind that actual salary will vary based on various factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the roles.
