Position Overview
Florida Physician Group, a member of HSA Hospitals (Hospital Systems of America), is seeking a Pediatrician to join our pediatric services at the hospital in South Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct well‑child visits, including developmental surveillance, immunizations, anticipatory guidance, and school/sports clearance.
- Evaluate and manage acute illnesses and injuries in pediatric patients in clinic and, when applicable, inpatient settings.
- Diagnose and manage chronic pediatric conditions (e.g., asthma, obesity, ADHD, diabetes) and coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists.
- Provide newborn hospital care, including admission, daily rounds, and discharge, as applicable to the practice setting.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication usage, and follow‑up plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure appropriate coding and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in call coverage, after‑hours phone triage, and/or inpatient coverage as assigned by the department.
- Support quality‑improvement initiatives, vaccination campaigns, preventive‑care outreach, and population health efforts.
- Collaborate with nursing, social work, case management, and ancillary services to address psychosocial, developmental, and care‑coordination needs.
- Comply with hospital bylaws, departmental policies, and professional practice standards.
- Perform other pediatrics‑related duties as requested in support of the pediatric program and institutional mission.
Qualifications & Skills
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of an ACGME‑accredited Pediatric residency.
- Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics.
- Current, unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration.
- Current BLS and PALS certification; NRP certification as required for newborn care.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered, family-focused, high-quality pediatric care.

- Strong knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and behavior across infancy through adolescence.
- Excellent communication skills with children, adolescents, and families, including the ability to provide clear education and anticipatory guidance.
- Ability to manage a diverse pediatric panel, prioritize urgent issues, and maintain efficiency in a busy clinical setting.
