    Opportunity Details:

    Position Title: BC FNP - Child/Adolescent

    Location: Atlanta, GA

Our comprehensive pediatric programs and services are designed to bring hope and healing to children and adolescents who face complex psychiatric, behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders. We strive to cater our approach to treatment to the needs of each child who comes into our care.

    Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6 17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental health programs for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

    Position Overview:

    • Employment Type: Hospital Employed, onsite only
    • Schedule / Hours: Monday-Friday day shift, shared weekend call 1:3/4
    • Patient Volume: varies by census
    • Location: Atlanta, GA
    • Practice Setting: Stand-alone behavioral facility with Acute Inpatient and Residential Child/Adolescent populations ages 7-17.
    • Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BC Psychiatrists, BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers and Therapists
    • EMR / Technology: HCS

    Responsibilities

    • The duties include admission physicals and daily consult care with follow-ups for child and adolescent patients in our behavioral health inpatient, residential treatment facility.

    • The patient population will include both male and female children and adolescents ages 7 17 years of age with diverse psychiatric issues to include autism.

    • Medical management of routine illnesses as well as some specialty issues is in the scope of patient care under the Practitioner.

    • There is a full team of diverse psychiatry physician staff at the hospital for collaboration between them and the NP. The work schedule is a 40-hour work week.

    • Document care using HCS.

    Qualifications

    ***The ideal candidate will be and have experience with Mental Health and also be a PMHNP.***

    Job Requirements

    • PhD or Master s Degree in Nursing from a recognized school of nursing
    • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the State of Georgia or willingness to obtain licensure in the State of Georgia.
    • Board Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (PPCNP-BC)
    • Current National DEA Certificate
    • BC PMHNP is a plus!
