Job Description: The Academic Learning & Tutoring Center (ALTC) is seeking a Peer Educator Training Coordinator for the 2026-27 academic year. Fun work environment, flexible schedule, 10-15 hours per week, supporting the ALTC's tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) programs. Graduate student preferred; an education background or interest in developing instructional design skills is ideal. This role works closely with the Senior Program Coordinator for Tutoring, the Senior Program Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction, and the Senior Success Coach to design and build training for new and experienced peer educators. $6,000 stipend per semester.
Primary responsibilities would include:
Design and build new tutor training materials that fulfill CRLA (College Reading & Learning Association) certification requirements, in partnership with the Senior Program Coordinator for Tutoring.
Design and build new Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader training materials that fulfill CRLA certification requirements, in partnership with the Senior Program Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction.
Develop advanced training content for experienced tutors and SI Leaders that builds on foundational certification training.
Create informational presentations and workshops for students on improving their learning skills (e.g., study strategies, time management, active learning), in partnership with the Senior Success Coach.
Coach team captains and experienced tutors/SI Leaders to deliver training content to their teams, building their skills as peer facilitators.
Occasionally present directly to students or assist with workshops and training sessions.
Build and maintain training materials in Canvas and Top Hat (no prior experience with either platform required - training provided).
Meet regularly with the Senior Program Coordinators and Senior Success Coach to identify training needs and update curriculum as programs evolve.
Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Interest in or experience with education, instructional design, or curriculum development preferred
