Peer Recovery Support Specialist / Residential Coordinator - Manteno - 2nd shift

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatment organization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs, including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. With over 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state, we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Our programs integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, including all three medications approved to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone). We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outside clinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patients have access to harm reduction resources and education. 

 Recovery Support Specialist Duties

• Conduct recovery oriented and educational groups under the direction of the Program Manager and Milieu Manager. 

• Engage patients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement techniques.

• Assist with monitoring patient engagement and communicate with the treatment team regarding patient attendance, participation and any barriers or needs to support treatment involvement.

• Document services provided in the individual patient record in a timely fashion and in accordance with IL.DASA, Federal and FGC standards.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPPA and 42 CFR.

• Demonstrate professionalism in working with patients, staff and other outside professionals or collaterals.

• Supervision and Professional Development: Participate in supervision with assigned supervisor as well as appropriate continuing education activities related to care management and maintenance of relevant certification or licensure. 

Residential Coordinator Duties

• Process incoming patients including basic orientation to program rules.

• Assist case manager/counselor with client activities by implementing scheduled and/or requested activities.

• Inventory incoming clothing and supplies of clients for quantity and specifically check for contraband items, in accordance with proper safety procedures - including but not limited to -emptying items into proper bin and never reaching into a client’s bag of articles.  Inventory outgoing clothing and supplies of clients with same procedures as above.  

• Obtain pertinent information from staff of previous shift to utilize during current shift and relay to next shift if appropriate. 

• Monitor self-administration of medications by clients and document in SAMMS, MAR/PRN log according to regulations.  

• Perform room and facility checks, at varying intervals, to ensure client’s comfort, safety, and well-being.

• Perform all drug screen services to clients, including but not limited to urine analysis and oral swabs.

Schedule: Second shift 40 hours; Sunday -Thursday with flexibility to accommodate agency's need

Start Date: ASAP

Work Location: 333 W. Evergreen St., Manteno, IL

Pay Rate: $18.26 - $22.00 per hour, based on certification

Required Experience:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have at least one year of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. Must have certification in Peer Recovery Support (CPRS), or attain certification within one year of placement in position. Demonstrates the ability to work within agency structure, accept supervision and participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, when applicable.
