Position Overview

Kings View is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to provide peer-based support services to individuals receiving behavioral health services. Utilizing lived experience, this role promotes recovery, resilience, engagement in services, and achievement of personal recovery goals while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support services grounded in lived experience to promote hope and recovery
  • Support individuals in identifying and achieving recovery goals
  • Assist with navigating behavioral health and community-based systems
  • Encourage participation in treatment and community integration
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate groups as assigned
  • Model coping strategies and wellness practices
  • Maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical team members
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or recovery systems required
  • Valid California Driver’s License (Class C) if driving is required
  • Understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Peer support training, behavioral health experience, or bilingual skills preferred
