    Position Summary:


    The PEM Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This position requires close monitoring of machinery, adherence to safety protocols, and precise control of process parameters to meet production targets. The operator will collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvements. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability are essential to minimize downtime and optimize output. Ultimately, the PEM Operator contributes to the overall success of the manufacturing facility by ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards and production schedules.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate and monitor PEM manufacturing equipment to maintain consistent production flow.
    • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
    • Document production data, equipment status, and any deviations from standard operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to identify and resolve process issues.
    • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Assist in training new operators and support continuous improvement initiatives within the production line.

      Skills & Qualifications:

      • Technical certification or training related to manufacturing or equipment operation.
      • Experience with process control systems and data logging software.
        • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO standards.
        • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process issues independently.
        • Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
        • Utilizes mechanical skills daily to operate and maintain complex manufacturing equipment, ensuring smooth production processes.
        • Analytical skills are essential for monitoring process parameters and identifying deviations that could impact product quality.
        • Communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with team members and reporting operational data.
        • Problem-solving abilities are applied when troubleshooting equipment malfunctions or process inefficiencies to minimize downtime.
        • Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards is critical, requiring the operator to consistently apply knowledge of regulatory and company guidelines in their daily tasks.

        Physical Requirements:

        • The employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and sit for extended periods of time. Frequently the employees are required to use their hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee is required to stand and walk, lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

        Education and Experience:

        • High school diploma or equivalent.
        • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with PEM or similar equipment.
        • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial machinery.
        • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and standard operating procedures.
        • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
