Job Description
We are seeking a PEM Operator to manually or automatically place threaded hardware into sheet metal to produce finished or in-process parts. In this role, you will follow job instructions, operate PEM equipment, perform quality checks, record inspection data, and make sure parts are packaged and returned properly.
Location: Rochester, NY (relocating to Webster, NY at the beginning of the year)
Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
Pay: $18 $21/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all safety processes and procedures prescribed for the job
- Review the Material Process Control Document (MPCD) to understand job requirements
- Insert parts and hardware into the PEM serter and operate the machine
- Remove finished parts and visually inspect them
- Perform detailed inspections using appropriate gauges per the MPCD
- Record inspection data accurately
- Package parts according to the MPCD
- Return parts and paperwork to the appropriate area
- Return unused hardware to inventory storage
- Clean machine parts and the work area
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 2 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Ability to use inspection gauges, including thread gauges, micrometers, height stands, and pins
- Intermediate reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate)
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Regularly required to sit, walk, and move through the office and factory
- Use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, grasp, and twist
- Ability to talk and hear
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Use lift assists or a coworker for anything over 50 lbs.
- May include humid conditions and extreme heat and cold
