PEMB Superintendent

Reports To

Vice President of Operations

Position Summary

Davco Roofing & Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced PEMB Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations for Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, scheduling, safety, and construction management experience with either:

A General Contracting firm as a General Superintendent, or

A specialized PEMB contractor/builder with direct PEMB erection experience.

This individual will play a critical role in coordinating manpower, subcontractors, equipment, logistics, quality, and safety to ensure successful project execution from mobilization through closeout.

The PEMB Superintendent is expected to lead with professionalism, operational discipline, accountability, and a strong commitment to safety and production excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

Lead day-to-day field operations for PEMB construction projects

Coordinate all on-site construction activities and sequencing

Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget

Manage field crews, subcontractors, and vendors

Drive production performance and labor efficiency

Maintain strong communication with Operations, Project Management, and Ownership

Site Coordination & Planning

Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project scopes

Participate in project kickoff meetings and preconstruction planning

Coordinate deliveries, equipment, cranes, and site logistics

Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts and constructability concerns

Maintain organized and efficient jobsite operations

Safety Management

Enforce OSHA compliance and company safety standards

Conduct daily safety meetings and site inspections

Promote a strong culture of jobsite safety and accountability

Ensure all crews utilize proper PPE and fall protection systems

Immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors

Quality Control

Ensure work is performed according to project drawings and specifications

Maintain quality workmanship standards throughout construction

Coordinate inspections and punch list completion

Monitor installation tolerances and building alignment requirements

Scheduling & Communication

Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules

Coordinate manpower requirements and crew assignments

Provide regular project updates to management

Maintain effective communication with clients, general contractors, inspectors, and field personnel

Qualifications

Required Experience

Minimum 5-10 years of construction field leadership experience

Experience managing commercial construction projects

Proven leadership experience as:

General Superintendent for a General Contractor, OR

Superintendent/Lead Superintendent for a PEMB contractor or builder

Preferred Experience

Direct PEMB erection and metal building experience

Experience with:

Structural steel erection - required

PEMB systems - required

IMP panels - optional

ACM panels - optional

Knowledge of crane operations and rigging coordination

Experience managing multi-trade construction environments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership and team management skills

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Proficiency with construction technology and reporting tools preferred
