Key Responsibilities

  • Administer pension benefits, including calculating retirement, death, and adjusted benefits
  • Process applications, payments, account updates, and monthly pension payables
  • Assist participants and third parties with inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, and plan provisions
  • Maintain accurate participant records and ensure compliance with federal regulations and plan policies
  • Handle financial transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, audits, and payment adjustments
  • Manage complex cases such as death benefits, beneficiary claims, estate payments, and QDROs
  • Review legal documents (e.g., power of attorney, marriage/divorce records) for benefit eligibility
  • Prepare reports, annual statements, claim determinations, and appeals documentation

Operations & Projects

  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and vendors to support daily operations
  • Assist with audits, actuarial processes, and regulatory updates
  • Support process improvements, system enhancements, and workflow documentation
  • Train team members and participate in cross-functional projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Experience in pension administration, benefits, or financial services preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information
