People & Culture Coordinator
Location: New York, NY Reports to: Head of Human Resources

Role Overview
As the People & Culture Coordinator at Petite Plume, you'll help build a positive, inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued, supported, and engaged. You'll act as an ambassador for our company values, coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations, while helping bring our people-first culture to life through team events and engagement programming. Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment logistics, including job postings, candidate communication, and interview scheduling
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) and keep candidate records accurate and up to date
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, including I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, system setup coordination, and orientation scheduling
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during their first 30 days to ensure a smooth transition
- Coordinate offboarding, including separation paperwork, systems access removal, and exit interviews
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records across the HRIS and payroll platforms
- Process employment changes such as promotions, transfers, pay adjustments, and leaves of absence
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support preparation of regular HR reports, including headcount, turnover, and open requisitions
Culture & Engagement
- Help plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, team events, and culture programming that reflect the brand's creative identity
- Support all-team meetings and cross-functional culture-building efforts
- Provide office management support as needed
General
- Use AI-powered tools to improve efficiency, streamline administrative processes, and enhance HR service delivery
- Support with the broader HR & Ops team to support shared goals and initiatives
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Employee Services, HR Coordination, or a related function
- Familiarity with talent acquisition and employee lifecycle processes
- Skilled in using AI tools and technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar) to improve productivity, create documentation, develop training resources, and support operational processes
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency with tools such as Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, and HRIS platforms
- Comfortable working in a high-performance environment where resourcefulness is key to success
- Experience in DTC, E-commerce, Retail or a start-up environment a bonus
