Where you’ll make an impact

  • Engage our workforce: Launch focus groups, promote involvement, and communicate proactively to strengthen connection across all departments.
  • Own the staffing game plan: Partner with Talent Acquisition and operations to align headcount and hiring with strategy, budget, and timelines.
  • Be the trusted coach: Serve as a confidential advisor to managers; guide on performance feedback, development planning, merit cycles, and PIPs when needed.
  • Resolve tough issues: Conduct confidential employee relations investigations; collaborate with HQ HR to assess risk and determine actions.
  • Keep policies tight: Interpret and enforce HR policies and procedures consistently across teams and shifts.
  • Grow leaders: Facilitate HQ and Americas leadership development; deliver supervisory and management training to uplevel capability.
  • Stay compliant: Ensure adherence to AAP, EEOC, OFCCP, FMLA, and I-9 requirements; maintain HR records and reports per retention guidelines.
  • Decide with data: Use key HR metrics and departmental data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate widely: Build strong cross-functional relationships, juggle competing priorities, and contribute in plant staff and other required meetings.
  • Pitch in: Tackle additional responsibilities that support team and company goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Background: Bachelor’s in HR, Business Administration, or related (PHR/SPHR preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in HR management (compensation, ER, performance, employment law, planning, project management), including 3+ years leading HR in a manufacturing plant. You’re business-savvy in manufacturing.
  • Strengths: Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization; strong decision-making; adaptable and able to handle multiple projects.
  • DEI & cross-functional chops: Demonstrated ability to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion and thrive in complex environments.
  • Tools: MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word).
  • Professionalism: Handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; work independently; resolve conflicts; follow through on plans.
  • Communication: Read/analyze business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; write reports, business communications, and procedures; present to groups; interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Records & analytics: Maintain accurate employee records and HR analytics for reporting.
  • Language: English fluency required; Spanish bilingual preferred.
  • Safety: Able to administer and follow all EHS rules and regulations.

Work setting & schedule

  • Office-based with periodic work on the plant floor.
  • Plant exposure may include fumes, dust, airborne particles, and extreme heat/humidity; noise is typically high.
  • Physically able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb; occasional light lifting.
  • Must be available to meet with employees on 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts as needed.

Travel

Occasional trips for conferences and meetings; timing varies by business needs with advance notice when possible.

Niagara Falls, NY — Stryten Energy’s injection molding facility producing plastic components for car batteries, supporting a stable and growing customer base.

Compensation

Base salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per year. Actual offers depend on location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may also include bonus, equity, or commissions.
