SUMMARY
We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced People Development Manager to spearhead our People Development initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will partner with our People Services team and Business Service Unit Leadership to cultivate a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your mission is to empower our people to unlock their highest potential through tailored development strategies and programs. This is a full-time in-office role located in our Goldsboro office with 1-2 days of day travel weekly. Relocation is available.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uncover Growth Opportunities:
- Lead the charge by conducting comprehensive annual assessments to identify education and development needs, ensuring our Company remains at the forefront of industry excellence.
- Craft Impactful Programs:
- Design and implement innovative development programs that align with our strategic people objectives, empowering our people with the skills they need to thrive, beginning with Onboarding and running through retirement.
- Innovative Material Development:
- Create engaging multi-media training materials that captivate learners and enhance knowledge retention, setting the stage for transformative learning experiences.
- Empower Leaders:
- Educate and coach managers, supervisors, and key personnel, equipping them with the tools to champion people development and drive sustained performance improvements.
- Event Coordination Excellence:
- Manage the organization and facilitation of unforgettable development and education events, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned from logistics to supplies.
- Dynamic Communication:
- Ensure the development of vibrant organizational communications, including online flyers and handouts, to keep employees informed and excited about upcoming education opportunities and resources.
- Evaluate and Evolve:
- Conduct thorough follow-up studies on all development initiatives to gauge effectiveness and impact, continuously refining programs to meet evolving needs.
- Culture Stewardship:
- Embody and promote the Companys Core Values and Mission through education, coaching, mentoring, and daily modeling.
- Collaborative Teamwork:
- Thrive as an integral member of the People Services team, working harmoniously to drive our collective vision for growth, development, and high-quality service.
DIRECTLY MANAGE
- Provide direct supervision and career development support to the Systems Design and Co-Op Specialist, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to excel in their role.
- Serve as a mentor by providing constructive feedback, setting professional growth goals, and facilitating opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and one-to-one meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years in corporate training and development or as a middle-high school teacher with demonstrated leadership experience.
- At least 2 years of managing at least one other person.
- Certifications: Hold one or more of the following certifications: APTD, CPTD, PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, ACCPCC, or MCC is a plus. Certification or willingness and interest in achieving certification in the WorkPlace Big 5 Personality Profile required.

- Experience with Canvas is a plus
EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or equivalent related experience
