Pearce Services is seeking an experienced
People Generalist (HR Generalist) to provide interim support while a team member is on a temporary assignment. This role will partner with the HR Business Partner and support employees and managers across one or more business units.
The ideal candidate will provide HR guidance, employee relations support, compliance assistance, HR reporting, and administrative support while fostering positive employee relationships and building trust throughout the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & HR Support- Serve as a trusted HR resource and liaison for employees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding:
- Company policies
- Procedures
- Workplace concerns
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support.
- Facilitate professional and objective conversations to resolve employee or manager conflicts.
- Support employees with individual HR-related needs.
Performance Management- Assist managers with:
- Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- Performance documentation
- Corrective and disciplinary actions
- Coach managers on addressing:
- Team conflicts
- Performance concerns
- Low morale
- Workplace challenges during organizational changes
Organizational Change Management- Serve as a key HR contact during restructuring or organizational transitions.
- Communicate changes effectively to minimize employee uncertainty and speculation.
- Support leadership and employees through change initiatives.
Compliance & Employment Law- Maintain knowledge of applicable:
- Federal employment laws
- State employment laws
- Local employment regulations
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant and reduce legal risks.
- Provide hiring and offboarding guidance across multiple states.
- Partner with HR Leadership and Legal teams when necessary.
HR Administration & Reporting- Maintain employee records and files in electronic and/or paper formats.
- Support HR data integrity, maintenance, and reporting activities.
- Assist with employee record retention and compliance requirements.
- Utilize HR systems and enterprise software effectively.
Employee Engagement & Business Partnership- Work closely with management and employees to:
- Improve workplace relationships
- Build employee morale
- Enhance productivity
- Increase employee retention
- Support business objectives through effective HR partnership and guidance.
Required QualificationsExperience- Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience.
- HR Generalist experience preferred.
- Experience handling employee relations matters.
- Knowledge of employment and labor laws.
- Experience in a California HR environment preferred.
Technical Skills- Strong proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with enterprise-level HR software.
- HRIS experience required; UKG experience is a plus.
Education- Bachelor's degree in:
- Human Resources
- Business Administration
- Related field preferred
Certifications
Preferred certifications:
- PHR / SPHR
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP
