Under the direction of the Director of People Operations, the People Operations Generalist administers and executes People Operations programs, policies, and procedures with a strong emphasis on compliance, employee relations, leave management, and technical People Operations.

This role serves as an operational partner for leadership and staff, ensuring consistent, compliant, and efficient People Operations practices across the organization.

 

Compliance & People Operations Administration

Responsible for executing and supporting compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements. Assists with compliance reporting and documentation, including EEO, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour, benefits compliance, and internal policy adherence. Maintains accurate, audit-ready personnel records and supports internal audits and reporting requirements.

 

Employee Relations & Terminations

Counsels managers and staff on People Operations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, corrective action, and workplace concerns. Partners with leadership to document employee relations matters, conduct investigations as needed, and ensure consistent and legally compliant execution of disciplinary actions and terminations. Provides guidance on best practices and risk mitigation.

 

Leave Management

Administers employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation coordination, and other applicable federal and state leave programs. Ensures accurate tracking, documentation, communication, and compliance throughout the leave lifecycle.

 

People Operations & Technical Support

Maintains the integrity of People Operations' systems and employee data, including HRIS updates, personnel files, reporting, payroll coordination, and benefits administration support. Compiles, tracks, and analyzes People Operations data to support operational decision-making and compliance reporting. Identifies technical or process improvement opportunities and recommends solutions.

 

Onboarding & Recruiting Support

Supports onboarding and recruiting efforts as needed, including assisting with new hire documentation, orientation logistics, background checks, job postings, and applicant tracking. Provides administrative and operational support to ensure a positive and compliant onboarding experience but does not serve as the primary lead for recruiting or onboarding strategy.

 

Clinic Partnership & Visibility

Maintains a consistent presence within clinics to build strong, trusted relationships with physicians, clinic leaders, and employees. Serves as an accessible People Operations resource in the field, proactively addressing concerns, reinforcing policies, and supporting operational needs. Regular local travel to clinics throughout the Atlanta area is required. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive employee information and demonstrates sound judgment in handling complex and sensitive matters. Supports leadership with projects, reporting, investigations, and data analysis. Demonstrates strong time management, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment. Participates in professional development activities to maintain knowledge of current employment laws, People Operations best practices, and regulatory updates. Performs other duties as required.

 

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in HR field of study.

 

Required Minimum Experience:

3-5 years in an HR/People Ops Generalist or Business Partner role.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Execute and support compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements, including FMLA, ADA, wage and hour regulations, and other applicable employment laws. Maintain audit-ready documentation and support compliance reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a People Operations representative and liaison to leadership and staff, providing guidance in employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, investigations, corrective action, and compliant termination practices.
  • Administer and manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation coordination, and other applicable leave programs. Ensure accurate documentation, communication, tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist employees with benefits, leave, and employment-related concerns, ensuring accurate information and appropriate follow-up while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Maintain a visible presence within assigned clinics to build strong, trusted relationships with physicians, clinic leaders, and employees. Serve as an accessible People Operations resource in the field. Local travel among practice locations throughout the Atlanta area is required.
  • Provide informed recommendations to the Director of People Operations regarding employee relations issues, compliance concerns, risk mitigation, and operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with regulatory requirements; ensure personnel files and documentation are complete and audit-ready (electronic and physical as required).
  • Manage HRIS data integrity, including processing employee status changes (new hires, transfers, separations, leave updates, compensation changes), and ensuring accurate reporting and system accuracy.
  • Prepare People Operations reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, leveraging strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Support coordination and delivery of training initiatives, including compliance-based and operational training programs. May facilitate sessions as assigned.
  • Assist in delivering a welcoming and compliant onboarding experience for new employees, including documentation processing and orientation support.
  • Serve as backup support across People Operations functions as needed, including Recruiting, Payroll coordination, and Benefits administration.
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  • Support cross-functional People Operations projects, including data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and operational reporting.
  • Maintain current and accurate employee demographic and contact data within HRIS systems at all times.
  • Collaborate as a strong team member within the People Operations department, supporting departmental priorities and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.
