People Operations Generalist — Manufacturing Plant
Step onto the manufacturing floor in Redwood City and you’ll find yourself at the heart of a high‑growth operation where people come first. In this hands-on, highly interactive role, you’ll be the go-to HR partner for employees and leaders—guiding onboarding in the morning, advising on employee relations mid-day, and closing out by tracking compliance and training.
What a day here can look like
- Launch the day with new hire orientation—setting up accounts, walking through benefits, and ensuring a smooth start.
- Field employee and applicant questions, routing sensitive and complex matters to the right subject-matter experts.
- Support managers with performance and talent management, recognition programs, and morale-boosting events.
- Stay visible on the shop floor to reinforce occupational health and safety practices and address concerns.
- Document and track mandatory and optional trainings, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Participate in investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations with professionalism and discretion.
- Keep policies compliant with federal, state, and local regulations; recommend best practices and process improvements.
- Continuously scan HR trends, employment law updates, and new HR technologies to elevate our people programs.
- Pitch in on special projects and other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s in Human Resources or advanced HR certificates preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered.
- 3+ years of human resources management experience preferred; manufacturing or similar environment experience a plus.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and practices; training in employment law, compensation, org planning, and safety preferred.

- Clear, concise written and verbal communication with all organizational levels.
- Meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for data gathering and interpretation.
- Ability to influence and coach managers on policy and best practices; unwavering confidentiality.
- Fluency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; advanced Excel is a plus.
- Comfort with HRIS and talent management systems (or the ability to learn fast).
- Outstanding time management—prioritize, meet deadlines, and navigate exceptions when procedures allow.

Where you’ll work
You’ll split time between office spaces and the production floor. Expect minimal noise in office areas and higher noise levels near operating machinery, moving equipment, nuisance dust, and certain hazardous materials used in manufacturing. Steel-toe shoes/boots are required in designated manufacturing areas.
Physical demands (office-focused)
Ability to talk and listen; frequent sitting with hands/fingers on a keyboard. At times you’ll stand, walk, reach with arms/hands, climb/balance, and stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl. Close vision is required for this role.
