People Operations Specialist Overview

The People Operations Specialist at Cowboy Space Corporation will play a critical role in supporting recruiting operations, onboarding, workplace operations, and employee experience across the company. This role is responsible for coordinating recruiting processes, delivering exceptional candidate and new hire experiences, supporting workplace operations, and helping ensure the People team operates with efficiency, consistency, and operational excellence during a period of rapid growth.

Reporting to the Head of People and partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, leadership, and cross-functional teams, this individual will help operationalize People workflows, support recruiting execution, coordinate employee experience initiatives, and contribute to building scalable People Operations infrastructure as the company grows.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, operationally minded, detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to support a high-performing People organization in a fast-moving deep-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting Coordination & Candidate Experience

  • Coordinate interviews across technical, manufacturing, operational, and business teams

  • Manage complex scheduling logistics for candidates, interviewers, and hiring teams

  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process

  • Help ensure a high-quality, responsive, and professional candidate experience

  • Coordinate onsite interview logistics and candidate visit execution

  • Support recruiting operations including:

    • Interview coordination

    • Candidate communications

    • Offer process logistics

    • Recruiting workflow management

    • Interview feedback collection and organization

  • Maintain ATS hygiene and ensure accurate candidate tracking and documentation

  • Help improve recruiting process consistency, operational rigor, and hiring efficiency

Onboarding & People Operations Support

  • Coordinate onboarding logistics and new hire onboarding experiences

  • Support employee lifecycle coordination and operational People processes

  • Assist with People Operations workflows, systems, documentation, and process organization

  • Maintain People records and operational documentation with accuracy and confidentiality

  • Help improve onboarding processes, employee experience workflows, and operational People infrastructure over time

  • Support cross-functional coordination related to employee operations and People initiatives

Workplace Operations & Employee Experience

  • Serve as a primary onsite point of contact for employees, candidates, visitors, vendors, and guests

  • Help create a welcoming, organized, and high-quality workplace environment

  • Coordinate workplace logistics including:

    • Conference room coordination

    • Visitor coordination

    • Workplace organization and operational support

  • Support onsite employee experience initiatives, team events, company gatherings, and cultural activities

  • Help maintain a productive, professional, and mission-driven workplace environment

Internship & Early Career Programs

  • Support Cowboy Space's internship and early career program coordination

  • Coordinate internship onboarding, scheduling, programming, and engagement activities

  • Coordinate intern logistics and cross-functional communication with hiring teams and leadership

  • Help create a strong intern experience and support internship program scalability over time

  • Assist with university outreach coordination and early career operational support where needed

Operational Support

  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to support efficient People operations

  • Help maintain organization and operational discipline across recruiting and People systems

  • Support operational initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts

  • Contribute to scaling People Operations as the company continues to grow

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of People Operations, Recruiting Operations, workplace operations, HR coordination, office management, or related experience

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational workflows simultaneously

  • High attention to detail and operational rigor

  • Strong interpersonal skills and candidate- and employee-facing professionalism

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Ability to operate proactively and independently in ambiguous environments

  • Experience with ATS platforms, HRIS systems, recruiting tools, and workplace operations strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee experience, recruiting operations, or internship programs is a plus

  • Startup, aerospace, manufacturing, hardware, or deep-tech experience is preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive compensation package including salary, equity, and benefits based on experience and level. Posted salary range: $125,000 to $175,000.
