BlueStar Resort & Golf - Central Services Main Office

BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.

Pay: $25 per hour

Benefits:

New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The People Coordinator, People Services (Human Resources) is a member of the BlueStar Resort & Golf Central Services team and is responsible and accountable for supporting a broad range of initiatives, primarily responding to Human Resources inquiries, payroll processing, maintaining current team member information, and processing staff recruitment information. This position reports to the Vice President of People Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality, positive customer service, and relationships with staff, guests, and members. Access to HIPAA protected information; must be trained accordingly.
  • Provide central point of contact for Human Resources inquiries from all facilities.
  • Create a shared vision among the team; encourage a motivational environment by leading by example; represent BSRG at Shea and/or Active Lifestyle events.
  • Support the pre-hire process; track all background and drug checks as needed; respond to concerns related to Talent+ pre-hire screening.
  • Support the new hire and termination process. Assist in weekly new hire benefit distribution, review of orientation checklists, and respond to life changing events as needed.
  • Manage personnel files and employee database information; data entry and tracking for STAR reviews; manage the Team Member Referral Program; oversees child support, job and loan verification forms.
  • Coordinate the company-wide transfer program across BSRG.
  • Create exempt offer letters for all sites, including Central Services.
  • Administrative support for payroll, safety program, BlueStar business system website, and training program.
  • Write and distribute minutes; monthly Human Resources Contact and Safety Lead conference call.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years' related Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with E1 strongly preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions and percentages.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff, members, and guests.
  • Must demonstrate initiative-ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in a professional indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
