People Systems (Human Resources) & Safety Intern
Job Description
Job Purpose: The People Systems (Human Resources) & Safety Intern is expected to understand, engage, and assist the People Systems Safety Manager in maintaining an environment which meets the needs of team members. The primary function of this role is to assist support OJT programs and assist with team member development and coaching. In addition, the People Systems (Human Resources) & Safety Intern will promote a safe working environment and assist the People Systems Safety Manager with all Safety-related activities such as accident/incident investigations, Lockout Tagout, documentation and tracking, etc.
The People Systems (Human Resources) & Safety Intern will provide support for all shifts.
This position reports to the People Systems Safety Manager with the direction (dotted line authority) from the People Systems Safety Supervisor.
Role Description and Job Accountabilities:
Specific Job Accountabilities/Functions (to be incorporated in my IDP and WFRD):
Coordinate/assist with safety activities · Issue locks, PPE etc. · LOTO procedure update, create and post · Assist with Electronic Filing/Recordkeeping · Assist with safety investigations, incident report follow-up, etc. · Complete and or assist with EHS Compliance Maintenance Plan Items · Conduct and participate in periodic internal/external safety, health, environmental, and security audits and ensure timely completion of findings · Under close supervision, provide training and feedback to improve overall knowledge of EHS activities · Ensure completion of incident investigations and corrective actions · Assist with the management of the current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) database · Assist with Behavior Based Safety Project - Develop training materials for implementation of a Behavior Based Safety program Complete assigned projects - As Needed · Review and align with Manager on activities completed and actions taken during shift. · Agree to scope of work and timeline and follow up with Manager · Turn in assigned activity as required Support the OJT Process · Assist with the OJT process at the facility · Assist with maintaining work instructions and certification checklists · Participate on teams and or improvement projects developing OJT training plans and programs · Notify Supervisor/Manager of any irregularities in training, materials, process, or equipment Support the Work Instructions Process · Assist with the annual review of all facility work instructions Plan for the next day and beyond · Support continuous improvement projects with use of departmental data _________________________________________________________________________________ EQ - the "How" · Be visible and approachable by all levels of team members; mentoring and coaching · Understands, sustains and models the desired Bama values and Foundation Principles of Bama and continue to keep our culture and mission alive; strive to help people be successful here · Achieve through teamwork; lead through influence |
